Users, teams and access

Combine operation permissions with resource sharing to define who can do what.

Multiple access layers

Battani combines user/role permissions with cluster, registry and data-connection sharing. Viewing a screen does not grant permission to modify every resource. The target Kubernetes or data-service account’s permissions also apply.

  • Create users and manage active status, roles and permissions.
  • Organize resource access through teams within your license limits.
  • Share clusters and registries.
  • Grant read, write or admin access to data connections, with an additional read-only connection control.

Grant access to a colleague

  1. Create the user or confirm that their existing account is active.
  2. Assign the roles/permissions their work requires.
  3. Share the relevant cluster or data connection at the appropriate level.
  4. Verify that the user can see the intended resource and perform only the required operations.

Authentication and sessions

Administrators can configure and test an LDAP connection. Active sessions can be viewed and ended, and session policy can be managed.

The free edition includes 1 active user and does not allow new teams. Check license limits for additional users or teams. Existing team records alone do not put an installation over the free-tier limits.
