AI assistant and query help
Investigate infrastructure with context; understand provider choices, Claude approval modes and query help in data consoles.
Provider configuration
Battani supports provider configurations based on GitHub Copilot SDK and Claude Agent SDK. Copilot can use a GitHub token or supported BYOK configuration; Claude can use an API key or an appropriate OAuth token.
An administrator selects the system-wide provider. Where personal configurations are allowed, users can select their own. Available models depend on the connected provider’s offerings.
Operation and approval controls
Execution controls depend on the provider. The Claude streaming flow implements read-only, automatic, approve-writes and manual approval modes. The panel initially selects automatic mode. The current Copilot flow does not apply these approval filters; its mode selector is not a guarantee of enforcement.
AI helpers in data-service consoles explain, fix, generate, optimize and diagnose queries or commands. A helper request does not automatically execute the suggested command.
Diagnose with context
When using a remote AI provider, submitted prompts and context are sent to the configured provider; network access and provider usage terms apply. A self-hosted installation does not mean remote AI use is also fully offline.
- Validate the provider connection under Settings → AI.
- Select the correct cluster or data-connection context and check the approval mode.
- Describe the problem with expected behavior and the observed error.
- Review suggested tool operations or queries and verify the outcome against resource state and logs.
